Welcome to Mission Beach State School. Our school provides quality schooling from Prep year to year 7.
We currently have 14 classes across this age range, with the majority of our classes being single age groups. The school population is around 350 children.
We have a strong focus on Literacy and Numeracy with school results highlighting the success of our school programs. |

Flying Start Information Session
INVITATION TO ALL PARENTS AND SCHOOL STAFF
You are invited to join the Minister for Education and Industrial Relations Cameron Dick MP at an information session about the major educational reforms happening in Queensland.
These reforms include:
- Continuing the roll-out of up to 240 extra kindergarten services to ensure every Queensland child has access to kindergarten taught by a qualified early childhood teacher by 2014.
- Year 7 becoming the first year of high school by 2015.
- Introducing Junior Secondary in all state high schools to support students in Years 8 and 9 from 2013, with Year 7 joining by 2015.
- Accrediting all Queensland schools under shared standards and establishing an independent body to monitor those standards.
- Strengthening teacher education programs to boost the performance of all schools.
The information session will be held at Cairns State High School, Crosswell Hall, Grafton Street, Cairns on Tuesday 16 August from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.
